In operation since 1966, CHIP NY represents more than 2,500 owners of apartments in New York City’s five boroughs. With its involvement in city and state policymaking, CHIP assists with decisions made pertaining to areas such as rent regulation, water rates, and property taxes.
One of the events CHIP NY sponsors is the BuildingsNY trade and conference. The 2016 event, scheduled for May 24 and 25 at the Javits Center in Manhattan, is the largest annual trade event and conference geared toward owners, managers, and builders in the greater New York area. In previous years, the event has brought in more than 7,000 owners and managers, most of whom deal with residential properties. Admission to the event is free, and visitors can talk with numerous exhibitors and learn about changes in the industry, attend educational sessions, and network with like-minded individuals.
