Founded in 1997, Urban American Management offers a variety of residential housing options for those living in the New York City area. Urban American Management remains dedicated to supporting local organizations, one of which includes the Roosevelt Island Day Nursery (RIDN).
Established in 1975 by a group of Long Island parents, RIDN is a nonprofit educational corporation that offers infant, toddler, and preschool programs at two separate sites on Roosevelt Island. Built with the island’s new urban community in mind, RIDN reflects the ethnic, racial, and cultural diversity of the area. Many of its faculty and administration possess strong academic backgrounds in early childhood education and have years of experience in the classroom.
Since the school is a nonprofit organization, RIDN relies on financial contributions. These gifts expand financial aid grants, improve the facilities, and strengthen its endowment. In addition, the school can purchase classroom supplies and library books as well as offer training and education for its faculty members. Students directly benefit by thriving socially, educationally, and developmentally.
